Rwandese woman to life in imprisonment after she was found guilty of killing her female friend following disagreement over a white boyfriend.
High court Criminal Division judge Jessie Lessit sentenced Antoinette Uwineza alias Michelin Uwababyyi for killing her female friend Winnie Uwambaye Colpitts five years ago in a city lodging following a bitter exchange over a “white” boyfriend.
She committed the offence on 16th February 2013 at Saharan Lodge along Duruma Road in Nairobi County.
The judge noted that the convict deliberately killed her friend and her seven months old baby with malice and in a brutal manner leading to their death.
Two men who had been charged alongside the convict were acquitted. One of them had been traced to Tanzania and fond in possession of the deceased mobile phone.
The foeteus was forced out after repeated pressing on deceased’s stomach,justice Jessie Lessit observed.
Delivering the sentence, the judge ruled she deliberately killed her friend and her seven- month-old feaotus “with malice and in a brutal manner” leading to two deaths.
