A man has been charged before a Nairobi court for impersonating National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and his personal assistant.
James Oire Ombui appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and pleaded not guilty to two charges of personation. He was released on a Sh 100,000 cash bail.
Prosecution alleges that between April 1 and 17,2019 at unkwon place in the Republic of Kenya, the accused person with intent to defraud falsely presented himself to be Aden Duale.
In the second count, the court heard that between April 15 an16,2019 with intent to defraud, Ombui falsely presented himself to be the personal assistant to Duale.
The accused was arrested after Duale reported the matter at Central police station that the man has been conning people through his Facebook account.
