The Managing Director of Vermont Flowers (EPZ) limited has been charged before a Nairobi vourt with stealing industrial equipment valued Sh 9 million.

Gerard Etiennem Bernazano, a Belgium national appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and pleaded not guilty to the criminal charge.

The court heard that between December 2015 and May 2017 the accused person stole assorted components of industrial equipment worth Sh 9,156,358 the property of Jacobus Johannes Viljoen the Chief Executive Officer of African Floralush (pty) limited.

He is also charged with another count of malicious damage to property.

Etiennem is said to have willfully and unlawfully damaged assorted components of industrial equipment valued at Sh 1,260,054 property of Viljoen.

The Magistrate order the accused person to be released on a cash bail of Sh 1 million on condition that he deposit his passport with the court.

The criminal case will be heard on August 6 this year.
