MORE CHARGED OVER 180 MILLION FAKE LAPTOP TENDER LINKED TO DP OFFICE.

Two traders have been chargedin a Nairobi court with obtaining Sh180 million worth laptops by falsely pretending they have a genuine tender document from office of deputy president.

Charles Kamolo Musinga and Solomon Mwema appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot and denied several fraud charges levelled against them by the state.

The two are accused that on diverse dates between May 10,2018 and August 12,2018 at Nairobi county, jointly with others before court conspired to defraud by means of offering alleged tender documents L.P.O No. POQ422 under the name of the office of deputy president for the supply of two thousand eight hundred (2,800) pieces of laptops make HP Pavilion 8 generation valued at Kshs 180 million.

Kamolo and Mwema are also accused at unknown date, time and place in the country jointly with others before court with intent to defraud and without lawful authority made a L.P.O serial No.POQ422 purporting it to be a genuine local purchase order issued and signed by the procurement officer Mulinge an assistant procurement officer at the office of the deputy president.

They are also facing charge of obtaining goods by false pretense.

Prosecution accused them on diverse dates between June 1,2018 and August 12 in Nairobi with others not before court willfully and unlawfully jointly obtained 2,800 pieces of HP laptops valued Sh 180 million the property of Makindu Motors limited along Mombasa-Nairobi highway purporting they had genuine tender documents from the office of the deputy president AF fact they new was false.

They were each released on a bond of Sh 3 million and cash bail of Sh 500,000.
