Two businessmen have been charged before a Nairobi court with several acquisition of proceeds of crime.
Abdinoor Mohamed Mohamud and Dahir Ahmed Hussein appeared before Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and denied charges.
Mohamud is accused that on diverse dates between July 1, 2018 and May 22, 2020 at unknown places jointly with others not before court, knowingly received Kshs. 1,486,039 proceeds of crime from unidentified persons from South African through M-pesa.
Ahmed is accused on diverse dates between July 1, 2018 and May 22, 2020 at Kakuma refugee camp in Turkana county jointly with others not before court knowingly received Kshs. 3,599,000 proceeds of crime from Mohamud Billow Mohamed through Abshir Adan Hanshi an M-pesa agent based at Kakuma refugee camp through Equity bank.
Hussein is also facing several charges of receiving different amounts of money alleged to be proceeds of crime.
The two were released on a cash bail of shilling 400,000 pending hearing of their case.
