TWO OFFICERS CHARGED WITH MURDER OF TWO PEOPLE DURING DEMOS IN GARISSA.

Two police officers based in Garissa has been charged with the murder of two civilians at a Nairobi High Court.

Adan Ibrahahim Salat and Abdirahman Roble Samow appeared virtual before Justice Jessie Lessit and denied to two counts of murder charges.

Prosecution informed the court that Ibrahim and Roble on July 25 this year at Soko Ngombe Area of Garissa Township in Garissa sub-county jointly murdered Aden Abdi Madhobe.

The two were further charged that on the same dates and place jointly murdered Mudhidin Aden Mudhow.

Ibrahim and Roble will now remain in custody pending hearing and determination of the bail application fixed for hearing on September 3.

This comes after Independent Policing Oversight Authority completed investigation over the alleged murder.

On July 25, IPOA dispatched its Rapid Investigations Team to Garissa county to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal shootings of two people who were allegedly killed by police officers on a mission to enforce an arrest.

Abdi and Aden were killed following a demonstration at the Garissa livestock Market.

Former leader of majority in the Parliament and Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale condemned the incident calling for immediate action.
