A Kisii resident wants Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i investigated and charged over inflammatory remarks he made.

In a court case, John Kiburi says Dr Matiang’i should be investigated over alleged inflammatory he made and if culpable be charged.

Kiburi also wants the court to bar the Cs from making further incitement against and the public at large.

He also wants the interior CS be barred from making remarks that demean the office of Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and coordination of National Government.

Through lawyer Charles Ongoto, Kiburi claims that the CS declared himself a member of outlawed group ‘Chinkororo’ and yet he is the cabinet secretary in charge of internal security of the country.

“Fred Matiang’i being in charge of security expressed that he has authority over police and he can command them to watch other members of the public being deprived of their rights and not take any action thus putting the life and security of the petitioner in danger, ” Kiburi claims.

He claims that the CS has been using threatening, abusive and insulting words which have caused or are likely to cause ethnic hatred considering the outcome of the 2007 general elections with regard to the coming 2022 general election.

In court documents, Kiburi accuses Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti among other institutions of failing to act against the CS despite them being the pillars of the country’s security.

He accuses the CS of continuing to address the public using alleged threatening, abusive and insulting words in a manner that demeans his office.
