A Nairobi court has issued a warrant for the arrest of a businessman accused of obtaining Sh14 million by false pretense.

Barnabas Kiprop Bwambok failed to appear in court to plead to the charges forcing Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Kiprop is accused of defrauding Ollyvian Agencies of Sh 14,050,000 through a company Amara Sidian Bank by falsely pretending that he was in a position to supply Microcuvettes medical kits, a fact he knew was false.

He allegedly committed the offence on diverse dates between April 1, and May 19 in Nairobi with intent to defraud.

He is further accused of forging a Kebs Local COC purporting it to be genuine issued by Kenya Bureau of Standards, an offence he allegedly committed on May 17, at unknown place, jointly with others not before court.

The charge sheet reads that with intent to defraud and without lawful authority or excuse, he made KEBS local COC under UCR202204009387, purporting it to be genuine and issued by Kebs.
