City lawyer Danstan Omari has accused civil society groups of using persons such as his client Rashid Ahmed to fundraise and keep the organisations afloat.

The lobby groups have been pushing for the senior officer to be charged with murder.

The High Court has already given a date for the crime buster to appear before a magistrate and plead to the charges.

Omari said Kenyans should be worried and asked themselves whether they should allow the civil society organisations to take over the country.

He claimed that six prominent persons including president William Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta, popularly known as Ocampo six were taken to The Hague based court as the instigation of civil society organisations.

“We are appealing to the President of the republic of Kenya the President you know well what the civil society did to you in 2012 they dragged you to the ICC they are now dragging Ahmed Rashid to Court. Let that the normal Kenyan law apply ,” Lawyer Omari said.

He added that the President is one of the victims of the civil society as the Commander in Chief, he should intervene.

The lawyer maintained that Rashid is a law abiding citizen.

He added that the famous Pangani Cop has not been interdicated because of his good work.

Omari claimed that the police service was under attack by the civil society and by extension, as several officers have been arraigned for carrying out their duties.

“We are appealing to the then Provincial Police commandant Japheth Koome now Inspector General police to take up this matter and return the moral of the police and defend the citizens in this Christmas season,” said Omari.

Several police officers been arrested while in discharge of their duties is simply telling the citizens ‘muko peke yenu’.

Rashid Ahmed has failed to plead to charges of murder because he had not been served with the summons to appear in court.

The DPP and IPOA had not served the officer commanding Pangani police station in order for him to inform Rashid to appear in court.

It us alleged that the DPP and IPOA had approached the court seeking to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Rashid is accused of killing two men in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

But the officer has defended himself saying the two were part of a gang carrying out a robbery at a shop in Eastleigh.

Politician Abdirizak Ismail said that the Eastleigh business community will stand with Sergeant Ahmed for doing good job and ensuring there was enough security in Eastleigh.

He added that Eastleigh is very peaceful now and they can attend key prayers due to security brought by Rashid and his colleagues.

“We are enjoying peace in Eastleigh courtesy of Sergeant Rashid Ahmed, Ismail said.
