A new revenue allocation formula case that threatened to tear out former Turkana Governor’s place at President Ruto’s government has been adjourned.

Josphat Nanok, former Turkana Governor and now the Deputy Chief of Staff of President William Ruto’s government sued a local newspaper over damaging remarks it made against him.

Lawyer Philip Nyachoti for the governor urged the court to indulge Nanok who was attending a state function and could not make it for the hearing which was scheduled for today.

Justice Sergon allowed the application and fixed the matter for February 7 next year for hearing.

The Deputy Chief of Staff sued the local newspaper for publishing an article claiming he was supporting Third Generation Revenue Formula.

The article was titled “North Rift Governor Back Third Formula Revenue Formula ” which according to him was false and we’re motivated by ill will and malice to intentionally impute him directly or indirectly.

The former Turkana boss says that the article degraded or lowered his personal capacity esteem in the eyes of right thinking members of the society and more so the citizen of Turkana county to whom he was accountable to.

Nanok further claims that the said article brought disrepute to him particularly since the alleged statement insinuated he supported a formula a revenue sharing formula which advocates for reduction of allocated funds to his motherland Turkana county when in fact ,he had expressed a contrary view.
