Kenya will play host to over 1,500 leaders, including African Heads of State, ministers and global Agriculture stakeholders in September.

The conference by African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) will among other issues discuss
policies that will attract investments in different countries in Africa.

Millions of Africa’s farmers and families who make up 70 percent of the total population stand to benefit from this venture.

The meeting is expected to see major players in the agricultural sector make concrete commitments to improve people’s livelihoods and realise the vision of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Dr Willy  Bett said the role of agriculture is key to driving the economic growth of Africa and in transforming the continent from just a net importer of agricultural products to a global market player.

“In Kenya, agriculture directly contributes about 30 percent of the GDP and another 25 percent indirectly and a source of 75 per cent of industrial raw materials,” he said.
