Interior and Coordination of National Government Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho risks arrest for failing to appear in court as ordered.
Justice Odunga directed the Nairobi Central OCPD, to arrest and present him in court during the next hearing.
The orders were issued in an application filed by Mr Joshua Mutua who wants the PS jailed for six months for failing to pay him over Sh300,000 which was awarded to him by the court for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
“Accordingly, I direct the PS to appear before this court to show cause why he should not be committed for contempt of court,” Mr Justice Odunga ordered.
The judge said that the Interior Ministry and the Attorney General have been dilly dallying in the payment of the sum due and the day has come for the court to tell the said state offices plainly.
Mr Mutua has been in and out of court since 2009 when the amount was awarded to him.
The case will be heard on March 31.
