Journalist Moses Dola has a case to answer in the henious murder of his wife Wambui Kabiru, the High Court ruled on Wednesday, May 11.

Justice Roselyne Korir said that the prosecution had proven there was sufficient evidence for a full trial against Dola.

Until her death, Kabiru worked with NTV and was found dead by neighbours in their house in Umoja estate, Nairobi, on May 1 2011.

Her body was found carefully tucked on the bed in their bedroom.

Dola went into hiding after the killing but resurfaced at Naivasha police station two weeks later.

He remained in custody until September 2011 when he was released on a Sh500,00 cash bail.

State counsel Catherine Mwaniki said “The fact that he went into hiding is a clear indication he knew of the offence he had committed.”

A pathologist who conducted a postmortem examination on Ms Kabiru’s body confirmed that she was hit with a blunt object.

Ms Mwaniki urged the court to be mindful of the fact that Dola left Kabiru alone and unattended, denying her access to medical attention.
