Athletes manager Federico Rosa has been paraded in a Nairobi court over doping.

Rosa is t investigated for conspiracy to cause injuries to professional athletes through doping, a situation that bars them from attending IAAF races and even the upcoming Olympics in Brazil.

Police have requested for three more days to remand the suspect in order to complete investigations before the suspect is charged.

The officers said that they need time to travel to Nakuru and Eldoret towns, an application that Rosa’s defence team opposed.

The team claims that Rosa and his father recorded statements in Eldoret on July 1 and that nothing was found during a search conducted at their premises.

On Monday, Rosa and his son spent the better part of the day at the DCI in Kiambu.

The two were reportedly summoned by anti-narcotics officers to record statements concerning a yet-to-be-revealed probe.

Sources close to the investigations say that they were being questioned over violation of anti-doping laws in the country.

There were also allegations that Italy-born Gabriele was tasked with explaining his activities since he was in the country under a tourist visa.

Officers from the department confronted the two in Eldoret, where the company was represented by a number of top stars during the national Olympic Games trials.

Rosa Association manages most of the country’s top athletes including some who have been banned over doping, including Rita Jeptoo.

Jeptoo, who was given a two-year ban in January, was also at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
