BY THOMAS KARIUKI.

Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu has asked the court to dismiss Governor William Kabogo suit saying the court should never have entertained it.

The Kiambu Governor is challenging MP Waititu’s academic qualifications saying they were doctored.

MP Waititu on the other hand made an application that the high court has no jurisdiction to hear the petition by his fierce rival in the gubernatorial seat Governor Kabogo.

Through his lawyer Mr Harrison Kinyanjui, Waititu told the court that the matter ought to have been dealt with by IEBC and EACC.

High court judge Joseph Onguto was told that the issue of integrity and leadership has been determined by another court and therefore the petition by the governor has no merit.

In a quick rejoinder Governor Kabogo dismissed the claims by the legislator saying that the preliminary objection by Waititu is null and void.

His lawyer Mr Issar Mansur argued that Waititu has falsely presented himself as having acquired a degree in India and it’s upon the court to determine the issues raised by his client.

“This petition raises issues whether or not Ferdinand Waititu has breached section 73 of the constitution on the integrity and leadership act, “Mansur submitted.

High court judge will rule on the matter on the August 23 2016.
