A Briton and a Kenyan have today been charged with trafficking cocaine valued at Sh598 million.

Jack Alexander Wolf Marrian of Britain and Kenyan Roy Francis Mwanthi allegedly trafficked the cocaine seized by Kenyan Authorities in a container at Kilindini Port in Mombasa on July 29.

Marrian is a director with Mshale Uganda Limited while Mwanthi is a director with Inland Africa Logistics Limited.

Their release on bond was opposed with the prosecution saying the Briton was a flight risk.

The illegal drugs were concealed as sugar from Brazil en route Kampala.

Marrian will be detained at Kileleshwa Police Station until Monday, when the ruling on his application for bail will be given.

Mwanthi will also be detained at the Gigiri Police Station until Monday.
