Njenga earlier the day had defected to KANU and was received by Baringo Senator Gedion Moi at Kanu’s Nairobi office.
He said the party was much better than the President’s. He did not say whether he had submitted his nomination papers.
Have you defected from Jubilee to KANU? Hapana Mimi Niko pamoja. Kwani kutembelea watu kuna shinda?( No am in Jubilee. Is visiting someone a problem?) Maina responded to court reporters at Milimani law Court.

Maina accused several Laikipia county senior politicians to be behind his political woes.
The five member tribunal led by Kyalo Mbobu further directed the party to comply and observe the principles and values of the Kenyan constitution.
When the matter came up for hearing jubilee submitted that Maina Njenga is a member of the political party. But said that  it does not guarantee him being allowed to vie for a political seat.
The party insisted that it has the right to decide the fate of a candidate who is seeking nomination.
Njenga argued that the party rejected his nomination papers adding his political rights were violated.
He claimed that the party rejected his nomination papers following instructions from the party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
In the court documents, Maina argued that he registered and paid the requisite legal fees seeking for Laikipia senatorial seat on a Jubilee Party Ticket and paid 50,000 shillings.
He claims that he has a right to protection of the law and full benefit of the law.
Maina maintained that he will vie for the senatorial seat on a jubilee ticket hours after he had defected to KANU party.
