An American national has been charged before a Nairobi Court for being in the country illegally.
Craig Douglas Near is accused on 1 of August this year at Muindi Mbingu street in Nairobi City Central business district being an American national was found unlawfully present in Kenya.
Immigration prosecution further accused Craig Douglas Near that, on the same day this month at Muindi Mbingu street at Nairobi Central Business District he was found to have not registered as a foreign National in contravention of Kenya citizenship and Immigration Act of 2011 and Kenya Citizenship and Immigrants regulations 2012
He pleaded not guilty before a Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.
He was released on a cash bail of 100,000.
The government has declared war on foreigners working in the country illegally.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Friday ordered for a 60-day operation to weed them out of the country.
