An Insurance agent imposter has been released on Sh 100,000 after being charged with several charges.
Milimani Chief magistrate Francis Andayi released Andrew Okoth on bond terms after he denied the charges against him.
Prosecution alleges that the on diverse dates between 11 of December last year and 10 of January ,this year at unknown place the accused person jointly with another before court carried business of an agent without registration by commissioner of Insurance.
Okoth is accused on the 16 of January, 2016 at Transafrican Motors along enterprise road in Nairobi County uttered to Florence Nyambura Machira Certificate of Insurance No. C13351790 for motor vehicle purporting it to be genuine and valid insurance cover issued by APA insurance limited.
He is also accused that he uttered a similar documents to Peter Owour Otieno a insurance certificate purporting it to be genuine and valid insurance cover issued by APA insurance limited.
Okoth is further accused that on diverse dates between 14 of June ,2016 and 9 of September ,2016 at paradigm agency Offices , Toyotsu motor Mart Building being an agent of Trident insurance company, stole Sh 38,211 which had been trusted to by Mary Wambui Karuthai the insurance holder policy to pay premiums for the said insurance policy.
He was further charged that being an agent of Chongqing International Construction company stole Sh 167,000 the property of the said company being payment of comprehensive motor insurance cover to Packs Insurance Company.
It is alleged that Okoth is facing charges pending in different court emanating from several files and charges of issuing bouncing cheque to different people.
The prosecution alleges. That the accused person is facing warrant of arrest issued by a another court where is said to have jumped bail.
