Keroche Breweries chief executive officer Tabitha Karanja has revealed that her late daughter Tecra Muigai transferred one million to her boyfriend Omar Lali’s accounts.
This was revealed today before Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Abdul Zainab during the inquest into Tecra’s death where she’s seeking justice for her late daughter.
Tabitha Karanja told the court that she found out that the daughter had made bank account transactions and mpesa transactions to Lalis account.
She said she got concerned by what was going on adding that her daughter was very young to send money to an older man .
“I became suspicious because tecra was a young girl competed to Olal so when you see her giving him money to this old man I was suspicious ..it should be the way other round,”she testified.
Tabitha said that all she want is justice adding that the family and the nation lost.
“That we are here to seek justice not just because of Tecra but to aniy other person who is out there to harm innocent kids and want to spoil young kids and lazy People who don’t want to work,” she said
Tecras personal assistant also testified and told the court on how she got directions from her boss alto send money to Tecra’s boyfriend.
She however was never told why the money was not sent to Tecra’s account or number but to Lali
Sarita Ikenye said that the mpesa transactions were between 10,000 shillings to 40,000 shillings.
Similarly the court heard that Lali tried to isolate Tecra from her family members adding that her social life with her friends changed when she met Lali.
According to Peter Kariuki who is a family friend,relationship between the two was described as not been peaceful.
Kariuki told the court that the two had many arguements and their driver would always intervene.
He did a follow up on the exchamges and Tecra told him that the two have been having arguements which were about Lali not listening to her and never wanting her to be around other people.
Another friend,Massiniliano Richiadei-Businessman,testified.
He said that he got worried when Tecra told.him.that she had found someone just a week after being in Lamu.
He told the court tthey would speak on phone often but slowly strayed to pull.off.
While in Lamu ,Tecra would tell.him that there’s network issues.
