FORMER DIRECTOR JAILED FOR STEALING EMPLOYER’S MILLIONS.

A former ZNS Group Director has been jailed for 14 months for stealing more than Sh12 million from his employer.

Gideon Ochieng Akello was found guilty of stealing by servant by Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

The court directed Ochieng to pay an alternative fine of Sh1,050,000.

Ochieng was charged that on July 17 at Group limited located at Panalpina building along Airport Freight Avenue, being director of ZNS Group limited, he stole Sh12, 015,600 belonging to the company.

The court heard that the money came to his possession by virtue of his employment.

The convict was also charged that on on July 17 in the year 2017, at the standard chartered Bank Kenya limited Kenyatta avenue branch in Nairobi county, with intent to defraud, he forged funds remittance application documents by signing the signature of Safaraliyev Olexander purporting it to be genuine.

He was also facing charge of uttering remittance application form document to the manager standard chartered purporting it to be genuine remittance application form signed by Alexander.

He was out on a cash bail of Sh500, 000 during the trial.
