A.businessman who conned a woman of Sh million claiming that he could help her source and ship second hand shoes from United Kingdom has been charged with fraud.

Duncan Ndegwa Njuguna who was arrested in presence of his family upon arriving from UK, denied the charges when he appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi.

The prosecution told the court that on August 30,2020 at unknown place, Njuguna obtained Sh608, 000 from Joyce Mwicigi.

It is alleged that he falsely pretended that he was position to facilitate the sourcing and shipment of unsorted second hand shoes.

Njuguna is also accused that on August 31, 2020 at unknown place and with intent to defraud, he obtained Sh400, 000 Mwicigi, promising shipment of an unsorted second hand shoes from UK.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh500, 000 or alternative bond of Sh1 million.
