A senior employee of CIC insurance and a businessman are facing fraud related charges amounting to Sh50 million.

Mwaniki Kahora were arraigned before Milimani Senior Principle Magistrate Robison Ondieki where they denied the charges.
It is alleged that the two had between July 20, 2015 and July 3, 2020 conspired to defraud CIC insurance over Sh5.2 million by facilitating a fraudulent process.
The prosecution told the court that on April 29, 2019 at CIC Insurance, Mr Mwangi being CIC insurance claim analyst, with intent to defraud CIC insurance Sh2,875.500 fraudulently initiated a KPLC payment knowing it is not a genuine claim.
The prosecution further stated that they forged a document in the name of General Adjusters Kenya Limited, so as to defraud the insurer Sh2,024,844.
The forged document was in the name of Mwaniki.
The two are facing a total of 46 counts.
They were released on a bond of Sh1 million each.
