A Narok man has been charged with obtaining Sh19 million for the supply of herbicides.

Daniel Paseia Kimogor is accused of obtaining the money from Nur Khalifa Maalim Kassim, for the supply of 7,000 liters of herbicide known as pramitol.

The charge sheet stated that he committed the offence between March 1 and 29, this year in Nairobi by pretending that the entity called the Mara Serengeti Trust had given him a tender to supply chemicals.

He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Ikhubi who directed him to post a bond of Sh5 million or an alternative cash bail of Sh1 million and provide two contact persons.

The court directed that one of the contact persons must be a civil servant.

The case will be mentioned on July 21 for pre-trial.
