DIRECTOR DENIES FRAUD CHARGE IN COLLAPSED HOUSING PROJECT.

The director of a housing development firm has been charged with obtaining Sh15 million by false pretense.

Joshi Kaplesh Manchha Shankar appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo where he was charged with fraud.

Shankar is accused of conspiring to defraud Stephen Ngei and Makindu motors of Sh 15 million on diverse dates between 2nd and 4th October 2012, in Nairobi.

The court heard that he committed the offence jointly with others not before court, being one of the directors of Pushpark Development Ltd.

The court heard that he falsely pretended that he was to invest for the amount in a housing project namely White Oak apartments from which, upon completion, would earn a profit of Sh8 million.

The court ordered that he be released on a cash bail of Sh50,000.
