A car dealer has been charged before a Nairobi court with obtaining over Sh5.3 million from a car buyer.

David Murithi Nyamu appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo and denied the charges.

Murithi is accused of obtaining Sh5.3 million from Joseph Paul Ntubiri with intent to defraud.

He allegedly committed the offence between May 9 and 12, in Nairobi.

The court heard that he pretended to be in a position to sell Ntubiri a Toyota VX.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 pending hearing and determination of his criminal case.
