A Nairobi businessman has been charged with obtaining Sh1.9 million from a client.
Francisco Karoki Kiragu appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo over charges of obtaining the money from Kennedy Chege Mbote.
Kiragu is accused of obtaining the money on August 3, at Central Business District in Nairobi City jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.
The court heard that he obtained the money by pretending that he was in position to import Subaru WRX fact he knew to be false.
He denied the charge and was ordered to deposit cash bail of Sh200,000 to secure his release.
