A Nairobi court has issued a warrant for the arrest of six people accused of planning to defraud former politician Jimmy Wanjigi of a parcel of land worth Sh500 million.
The court issued the warrants of arrest against David Njenga Samson Kuria, Henry Njoroge Njenga, Samuel Njuguna Chege, Antony Maseno Anabaka, K Alunde Musembi, Cattwright Jacob Owino,V alentine Jelimo, Lawrence Njogu Mungai, Kepha Odhiambo Okongo and Martin Esakina Papa, after failing to appear in court to plead to the charges.
Only Samuel Njuguna Chege appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Susan Shitumbi and denied the charges.
They seven are accused of conspiring to defraud Messer’s Aureum Limited of a parcel of land known as; Land Reference No.1870/11/200 I.R..65800/1 measuring approximate area 0.3314 hectares.
The land on General Mathenge road is valued at Sh500 million and is associated with Wanjigi.
The accused persons allegedly committed the offence on or before 5th April 2018 within Nairobi County, jointly with others not before court.
Njenga, Njoroge, Njuguna, Maseno, Alunde and Jacob have also been charged with forging a grant title in the name of Cissy Kalunde Musembi purporting it to be a genuine and valid Grant title, issued by the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning at Nairobi land registry.
Prisca Nzula Wambua is accused of knowingly and fraudulently uttering a forged Deed Plan No.175145 for a parcel of land parcel Grant Title land to Sarah Wanjiru Wabwile purporting it to be a genuine and valid Deed Plan issued by the Survey of Kenya.
She allegedly committed the offence on 26th February 2019 at Kairu Mbuthia Law LLP Advocates offices within Nairobi County in the Republic of Kenya
The court was later informed that Owino was admitted to the hospital and was exempted from the warrant issues.
The case will be mentioned on May 10, 2023.
