A 53-year-old Githurai based pastor has been charged with obtaining Sh6.8 million claiming that she was in a position to sell a parcel of land.

Catherine Wairimu Ng’ang’a of Arise and Shine Healing and Deliverance Church in Githurai appeared Senior Resident Magistrate Zainab Abdul and denied the charges.

The charge sheet stated that she obtained Sh4 million from Noel Njeri Ngure, claiming that she was in a position to him a parcel of land.

It is alleged that she committed the offence jointly with another not before court, on diverse dates between 1st February 2021 and 12th August 2021 at Mowlem area in Nairobi County. the court was informed that she committed the offence with intent to defraud.

She was further accused of obtaining Sh1,735,000 from Lilian Muthoni Ngure by falsely pretending that she was in a position to sell her a plot.

Other counts stated that she fraudulently obtained Sh900,000 and Sh253,200 from Muthoni and Anna Nyambura Njogu pretending to be in a position to sell them three stalls at New Wakulima Market on Kangundo Road.

The court released her after posting cash bail of Sh500,000.

The case will be mentioned on June 12, for directions.
