Controversial gospel artist Christopher Mosioma, popularly known as Embarambamba has defended his songs a day after he was asked by the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) to pull them down.

The board had directed the musician to pull down some of the songs for lewd content but the singer defended the “Niko Uchi” song, saying it was targeting the deaf.

In response to KFCB, said the song which has since gone viral on social media is part of his genius creations aimed at reaching the deaf who lack the ability to hear his message but are able to understand from the videos and scenes of the song.

“I am a Minister of God and all my creative works have been done with the aim of ministering the Gospel and recruiting souls to Christ without discrimination,” he said.

The musician expressed shock on KFCB’s actions and stated that instead of celebrating his creativity and genius ideas of ministry, the board has discouraged and intimidated him by making very scandalous and unmerited demands.

The board through Nelly Muluka had instructed the gospel singer to pull down his song “Niko Uchi” on his YouTube channel and other media platforms regarding the high use of vulgar language, nude and indecent scenes as well as for violating the Films and Stage Plays Act.

The board also directed Embarambamba to submit all of his airing music to KFCB for examination and if it was appropriate to a certain to the underage children for consumption as well as confirming if his filming licence is appropriate before further production.

The board had warned him that the failure to adhere to the terms and conditions of production would lead to a fine of Sh 6.4Million for violation of the board’s regulations.
