The daughter of a deceased tycoon has been charged alongside two other persons with forging her father’s will in order to disinherit her siblings.

Devani Pathania, was charged together with Abhay Singh Pathania, Samuel Ngugi Ndinguri and Addah Nduta Ndambuki Ndita with forging a Will with intent to defraud.

They appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Benard Ochoi and denied the charges.

The four are alleged to have committed the offence on 11th November, 2019 at Pelican Signs Limited offices in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.
The charge sheet stated that they forged minutes of the meeting of directors of Pelican Signs Limited purporting them to be a genuine.

The four are accused that on 5 June 2019 at unknown place, jointly with others not before court, the allegedly conspired to forgery of the codicil to Will of Balkrishna Ramji Haribhai Devani (deceased).

Dinta is facing a separate charge of intermeddling with the estate of the late Devani.

The charge sheet stated that on 14th day of August, 2019 at the offices of the Registrar of Companies at Sheria Home, while not being the administrator to the estate of Devani, she intermeddled with the estate by transferring the shares of Silverstar Properties Limited without express authority.

The accused persons were released on a bond of Sh1 million or alternative cash bail of Sh200,000 each.
