China and Taiwan governments representative yesterday engaged in a heated confrontation in court.

Chinese official attempted to persuade his Taiwan counterpart Mr John Chen to give up on a case in which Chinese and Taiwan Nationals have been jointly charged with illegal use of telecommunications  equipments in Kenya.

The two officials were seen engaging each other in tough conversation in the corridors of Nairobi Magistrate courts and further outside the Milimani law courts.

Taiwan has objected a move where its citizens were deported to China instead of their country.

China has announced that the group of Taiwanese citizens, deported to China from Kenya will be prosecuted on charges of telecommunications fraud.

The move escalated to a diplomatic battle that has outraged Taiwan, which sees the deportation of its citizens to China as an extrajudicial abduction.

Taiwanese citizens arrived in Beijing hooded and handcuffed.

Efforts to have the Taiwanese released from China prisons have bore no fruit.

Mr Chen said that the extra-legal deportations took place as Taiwan government appealed to have the deportation halted until proper arrangement were made to have their citizens taken back to their country of origin.

Commissioners of the anti-graft agency must hold their tongues over the ongoing investigations on their chairperson Phillip Kinisu.

The court said that no one from the ethics team should make any statements concerning that inquiry.

This is after activist Okiya Omtatah moved to court demanding that Deputy CEO Michael Mubea be compelled to make full disclosure regarding Sh50.4 million allegedly paid on April 14 2015 through the firm of Michael Daud and MS Ogola and Company Advocates.

“I suspect that the said money is part of 791 million shillings which was stolen from National Youth Service and which EACC was investigating with the Deputy CEO Michael Mubea,”Omutatah argues.

Mr Omtata says that following the clandestine and unexplained release of confidential documents plucked from the personal file of EACC chairperson Phillip Kinusu by Kiptoo John and Joseph Njuguna masquerading as the Bunge la Mwananchi, hype has resulted seeking the irregular and political removal of KINUSU from the office of EACC.

He further claims that the pattern has been used for over years to harass and hound the EACC chairman and its commissioners out of office whenever they stand up to corruption cartels in and outside the government.

Kinisu was on Monday summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Kiambu for grilling and to record statements on how his family company Esaki Limited won government tenders worth millions of shillings.

The matter will be heard on August 9.

Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) has accused Kenya Airways management of doing little to save the kenyan airline.

KALPA has consistently voiced its position on poor management of the airline.

Speaking today in Nairobi, the union accused the management of Kenya airways of retaining over 70 foreign employees with more favorable terms of service at the expense of local ones with matching skill sets and experience.

KALPA is calling for the immediate resignation of Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze and the board of directors.

This is following huge losses that the airline announced last week.

“Since Mbuvi was appointed to the helm of the organization and the so-called watchful eye of the board, he has failed to clearly articulate the reasons behind the falling state of the company’s fortunes, he lacks experience and moral authority to continue leading the company” KALPA says.

The last theatrical episode of the NYS scandal prosecutions presented by the suspects has been rolled up.

Chief actors in the scam, Ben Gethi his mother Charity Gethi, Josephine Kabura with nine other’s will now plead to charges of stealing Sh791 million youth money.

This is after their second attempt to stop their prosecution was thwarted by a Nairobi court.

The suspects among them lawyer Eric Ogola were also directed to plead to 15 counts of money laundering on August 15.

While dismissing their plea for deferment of their prosecution CM Ogembo said their case lacked merit and did not find a justified reason as to why their trial, which has been delayed for nearly six months, should not commence.

They were initially expected to plead to the charges in February, but are yet to following the multiple applications.

On June 29, Justice Joseph Onguto dismissed seven applications filed by the suspects – they were arraigned following links to theft of Sh791 million NYS cash.

Judge Onguto at that time said the DPP had not abused his powers in preferring the charges as alleged by the suspects.

He said it was not for the High court to determine the innocence of the accused persons but for the trial court to make a determination.

TRUMP TRAMPLED BY PRESIDENT OBAMA.

US President Barrack Obama hugs Republican Presidential nominee he accused Donald Trump of fueling anger and hate among Americans.

BY NT CORRESPONDENT IN US.

Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump has been accused of fueling anger and hate among Americans.

In a mouth watering speech President Barack Obama described Ms Hilary Clinton as one who would lead America firmly in the right direction.

President Obama said his former secretary of state is a better qualified candidate than even he or her husband.

“I can say with confidence there has never been a man or a woman — not me, not Bill, nobody — more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as President of the United States of America,” he said.

“America is already great,” Obama insisted, rejecting Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” “America is already strong. And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump.”

President Obama also said that two terms of a Democrat presidency weren’t enough to finish the work he started.

Obama cautioned on Trump saying “Because he’s selling the American people short. We are not a fragile or frightful people. Our power doesn’t come from some self-declared savior promising that he alone can restore order. We don’t look to be ruled.”

“What we heard was a deeply pessimistic vision of a country where we turn against each other, and turn away from the rest of the world,” Obama said.
“There were no serious solutions to pressing problems — just the fanning of resentment, and blame, and anger, and hate.”
