Two more people have been taken to court over doping allegations.

The anti-narcotic unit arrested Joseph Karuri Mwangi who operates a herbal clinic and Ken Kipchumbac Limo, a clinical officer both of Eldoret town and asked the court to give them more time to finalise investigations.

The prosecution is trying to link the two officers to two other suspects who were produced before the court yesterday.

However, since they were arrested on July 7, which was a public holiday, the investigators need more time to complete investigations hence their request for additional days.

“The investigations involve the reputation of sports especially athletics in the country. If the suspects are released, they will interfere with investigations and may also abscond based on the seriousness of the allegations against them,” the prosecution argued.

They will be detained at Muthaiga police station

The case will be mentioned on July 18.

The other two are athletics coach Claudio Berardelli and Federico Rosa who were remanded in custody to allow further inquiry on their alleged “suspect” activities in the country.
