The mother to NYS Scam ‘mastermind’ Ben Gethi should be arrested at any opportunity that presents, the court has ordered.
This is after Charity Gethi failed to appear in court for a second time running as earlier ordered.
She is facing money laundering charges over the loss of Sh791 million youth money.
The court was presented with a document from the doctor which had conflicting dates, the court interpreting it as mischief to miss court session.
It was earlier said that Charity was directed to take bed rest by her doctor.
The order to arrest her was issued by Nairobi Magistrate Martha Mutuku.
Nairobi Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo had directed that all the accused persons appear today in person to take plea over the allegations.
“All the accused should appear in court on August 15 for plea taking,” said Ogembo.
The suspects are expected to plead to 15 counts of money laundering.
Others include Josephine Kabura, Jedidah Wangui, KCB driver John Kago, Samwel Wachenje alias Sam Mwadime, Anthony Kihara, Paul Gachoka, John Vandamme and Martin Wanjohi.
Several attempts to have their prosecution suspended have been thwarted by both Judges and Magistrates.
