The house of 2013 Deputy President candidate Winnie Kaburu who was James Ole Kiyapi’s presidential running mate has been left homeless after hired goon vandalized her house in Westlands.
It’s said, that a gang of over 50 men, armed with guns and other crude weapons, stormed into her house on Friday evening and started destroying property.

Mrs Kaburu claims she bought the property located on Raphta Road, off Pilipili Drive.
Kaburu claims she bought the property from an Asian and has since paid 27 million shillings.
Kaburu who has been occupying the said property for over five years says shehas not had any issues with the owner who has been unwell for a while.
However, she says a lady who claims to hold the power of attorney of the property wants to kick her out.
Meryline Wanjiru the lady being accused of being behind the vandalism has suffered with  a catalogue of documents to dispute claims by Kaburu.
Wanjiku says Kaburu has forged documents and wants to take over the property from the Asian  man by using deceit.
According to Wanjiku, Kaburu was given notice in July this year to vacate the property after defaulting payment but since then she has remained defiant.
She claims it was unfair for Kaburu to try and snatch the property from the owner wondering when she paid the 14 million shillings she claims.

In what pointed to land ownership tussle Kaburu claims some people keen to take over the property are behind the break in of her house.
Two children who were in the house at the time were injured are currently receiving treatment at a Nairobi Hospital.
Nairobi senator Mike Sonko who visited the property condemned the act calling on police to apprehend those behind the vandalism whichleft Kaburus’ watchman and two daughters hospitalized from injuries sustained from the goons.
Lately, there has been rising cases of cartels going round demolishing properties they claim to have acquired following the expiry of the leases.
