It is a permanent reprieve for former Land Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu after court of appeal terminated criminal case against her.
This is after parties in the appeal lodged by Ngilu entered a consent to have the criminal case before the the Nairobi Anti corruption court terminated.
“On termination of Criminal proceedings against charity kaluki ngilu in Anti-corruption criminal case NO 13 of 2015 ,in the Chief magistrate court Nairobi the appellate, Charity Kaluki Ngilu will not pursue any claim from office of Attorney General , Director of Public Prosecution  and EACC” reads a documents seen by Nairobi TIMES.
In the consent Ngilu is not expected to sue the DPP,EACC or the AG.
Ngilu had pleaded not guilty to obstructing EACC officials from investigating Karen land scandal.
Cash bail deposited in court will be refunded to Charity Ngilu.
Ngilu was charged in court on June 19 for obstructing EACC officials during the probe on the Karen land. She denied the charges.

Ngilu was accused of directing officials in the Lands Ministry, not to record statements with the EACC of the disputed 134-acre Karen land.

Ngilu was released on Sh1 million cash bail last Friday when she appeared in court.

She appeared alongside eight other land officials who were also granted bail.
