A senior officer in charge of criminal investigation in Kabete has been charged with abuse of office.
Henry Ngugi Njeri, the Divisional Criminal Investigations (DCIO) in Kabete was charged before magistrate Kennedy Bidali.
He denied a charge that that on November 5, 2016, at Kabete, Kiambu County, being a National Police Service officer as the DCIO used his office to confer a benefit of Sh50,000 from James Wachaga Kamau as a benefit to release a camera which he had seized.
Ngugi was released on Sh50,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh 100,000.
The matter will be mentioned in two weeks’ time.
