Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi feels that the government need not appeal Monday’s decision nullifying the appointments or 50 chief administrative secretaries.

The High Court quashed the appointments stating that the Public Service Commission (PSC) failed to conduct adequate public participation.

In his view, the outspoken lawyer said Attorney General Justin Muturi should not bother appealing against the decision.

“If he appeals…the route is that the courts took through the BBI process,” the lawyer said.

According to the veteran lawyer, President William Ruto tried very hard to give 50 of his political supporters jobs as CAS.

“(Un)Fortunately, the High Court had a different view.

“I know the President will respect the law and instead give this great 50 Kenyans some useful jobs to do in building the nation,” said the veteran lawyer.

Ahmednasir further said the 2010 constitution is a most powerful antidote to impunity and unchecked executive power.

“It taught President Uhuru painful lessons. It will teach President William Ruto painful lessons. It will teach anyone who breaks it painful lessons. Respecting the dictates of the Constitution is a joyous nationalistic act,” said Ahmednasir said.
