A car dealer has been charged with obtaining Sh 12 million from clients pretending that he would  deliver a luxurious vehicle from the United Kingdom. 

Ibrahim Chege Thuku appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Nanzushi and denied the charges. 

The charge against Thuku stated that he obtained the money from Joseph Ngugi Simon Gashwe by falsely pretending that he was in a position to to import a Range Rover Sport from United Kingdom. 

It is alleged that he committed the offence on June 7, 2021 in Nairobi County, with intent to defraud. 

The court further heard that Thuku falsely obtained Sh6.6 million from Robert Kago Gashwe, pretending that he was in a position to import a Toyota Hillux invisible from the United Kingdom.

He allegedly obtained the money on June 4, 2021 with intent to defraud. He was released on a bond of Sh 2 million
