A middle aged man has been charged with stealing by agent.
David Onyango Odwaro appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and denied the charges against him.
Onyango is charged that on diverse dates between 27th July and 28th September 2023 at Cooperative Bank, Upper Hill Branch, being the principal officer at Namad Insurance Agency, he stole Sh151,575.
Another charge stated that being an employee of Namad Insurance Agency, Odwaro stole Sh 285,085 of deposits that were made into the company’s account.
The charge sheet stated that the money was paid by Mohamed Tajdin Chatur into a Namad Insurance Agency account as medical premiums. The money was meant for a placement of a medical insurance policy to be insured by UAP Old Mutual Insurance Company Limited.
The court ordered him to deposit cash bail of Sh200,000 to secure his release.
The case will be mention on February 22.
