The High Court has summoned Principal Secretaries at Treasury and Ministry of Education in court over the failure to pay a contractor.
Justice Francis Tuiyott ordered the two principal secretaries to appear in court on May 27, without fail.
The court had earlier summoned former Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang but he was transferred to the Vocational Training docket by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a mini-reshuffle of the cabinet.
He was to appear in court and explain why the Ministry has failed to pay Ngotho Architects Sh11.1 million. The PS will also be expected to convince the court why they should not be jailed for a term not exceeding six months, for failure to pay the money as directed by the court.
The ministry told the court that they had requested the Treasury to allocate over Sh50 million in the next appropriation to enable the Ministry to pay Ngotho Architects and other five cases, where the Ministry has been sued and ordered to pay.
