A woman who was arrested while driving under the influence of alcohol has been charged before a Nairobi court.
Sharon Mirella Wakhu was arrested last week and presented to court but failed to plead to the charge because she did not have an identity card to verify her names.
The woman caused a stir in court as she snored while proceedings were ongoing.
The charges stated that she was arrested on 22nd September, at about 0735hrs, on Ngong road within Nairobi County, driving on a public road while under the influence of Alcohol.
The prosecution said she was incapable of having proper control of the vehicle.
She denied the charge when she appeared before Milimani Traffic court Principal Magistrate Martha Nazushi.
The woman was ordered to deposit cash bail of Sh10,000 to get her freedom.
The case will be mentioned on October 12.
